The following are activities which you are expected to complete for evaluation on this unit.

Activity One:  Complete the scene study questions throughout your reading.  Keep all scene questions and answers in a duo tang to be handed in upon completion of the play.
Due:  December 6, 2002.

Activity Two:  Throughout the study questions you will notice that five questions are marked with stars.  These questions are -- 2.2 question 2
                                                    3.2 question 4
                                                    3.4 question 2
                                                    4.2 question 2
                                                    5.2 question 7

These questions require more thought, and are to be completed separately during our Hamlet unit.  These answers/responses are to be handed in with Activity one, at the back of the duo tang (May 29, 2003).

Activity Three: Act Quizzes.  You will be evaluated on your understanding of the play and its characters with 5 quizzes.  Each quiz will be scheduled upon completion of an Act in class.  The tentative dates are ---
                                   Act 1:May 20
                                  Act 2: May 21
                                  Act 3: May 23
                                  Act 4: May 27
                                  Act 5: May 28

Activity Four: The most famous speech from Hamlet is Hamlet's soliloquy in Act 3.1.  Your task is to write your own soliloquy reflecting on some aspect of life.  Hamlet's  speech asks, essentially, the question 'to live or not to live'?  He is contemplating suicide to escape the troubles of his life.  Your soliloquy can be equally as thoughtful and serious as Hamlet's or take an entirely different spin, such as, 'to eat or not to eat' or 'to burp or not to burp'! Whatever your take, it must be 15 - 20 lines in length.  These soliloquies will be shared with the class as oral presentations.  Presentation dates are: Jan. 13-15, 2004.
